I don't need a blusher

I had a nice foot massage today, so nice that I had to let my mom drive the car cos I was sleepy. The massage itself was pleasure and pain... but what is pleasure when you never experience pain?  Chewah... philosophical pulak hari ni.

All day I've been watching TV: catching up with MTV and Channel V, laughing with The Ellen DeGeneres Show, gawking at how Erra cooks Japanese fish broth and make it look more complicated than it's supposed to be in Chef Diva, watching a rerun of Desperate Housewives and a little bit of the film Alexander.  Then went for a foot massage, had a lovely iced coffee, bought yong tau fu and DVDs, and top it off with a bunch of dukus.

When I came home my face was glowing despite the fact that I have neglected my careful facial regime for the last 4 wks... my three-step-facial regime (wash-tone-moisturise) became one-step (wash)... that is... on a good day.

"Tengok, kalau tak stress terus muka awak jadi cantik sikit."

And it was only yesterday that a colleague remarked: "Were you oncall last night?"  I laughed and said, "No... Do I look post-call?"

Yeah, so yesterday I looked like shit.

Funny what 8 hours of sleep and 5 hours of TV can do to you.  If I keep this up for another week I might gain some extra kgs though...

Oh yes, I'm on a break.

The importance of being idle

Transformers is awesome!  Despite of being a mere 15 feet from the screen and having to strain my neck up to watch the whole action... that is.

Favourite word of the month: "Crap."

There is such a thing as pre-on-call syndrome.

It's when young doctors wear a grim expression, arms flailing over the place when busy, and tendency to snap at people when agitated. Some weirdos (me included) also has a tendency to (accidentally!) hang up on calls or tripping when climbing up stairs.

And the call has not even started yet.

Will be on leave for 4 days.

Plan 1: Buy new shoes/sandals.  Two shoes have been destroyed In the past 4 months.

Plan 2: (Re)Learn how to drive.

Plan 3: Manhunting.

Plan 4: Dek Bee's birthday party.

Sideplan 1: Rebonding.  And make sure I ingest paracetamol beforehand.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Now that I am working with super-nice bosses, I find it awkward since I am so used to rough treatment.

In a way, I am glad as well. (Of course!)

If I work with a boss who has a tendency to lash out and emotionally labile, I will be on my toes.  I will swallow my pride and take it all in.  But soon my emotions will overflow, and I will not care, because day by day I will have episode of 'kecil hati' that eventually I become 'heartless.'  No, not to patients though: a small section of my heart is still well-perfused enough to accomodate them.

Now that I am working with bosses who treat me as a part of the team and not just a messenger-cum-phlebotomist, I feel my heart thumping again.  I try to minimize my boss's work on my part.  And I am actually revising!

To those who say being nice is counter-productive to your subordinates, I beg to differ.
